OBITUARY
Jack
B. Richardson
Jack Benton Richardson was born April 14, 1937, in Denton, Texas, and
died January 24, 2002. When he was nine years old he moved to Farmers
Branch where he met Oma Elizabeth Shafer who would later become his
wife. Mr. Richardson graduated from Carrollton High School in 1956. He
was married to Elizabeth Shafer August 2, 1958.
Most of Jack's adult life was spent in sales. He was an agent for
American National Life Insurance Co. He started working for Rockwell
International in 1967 in the power tool division and was transferred to
Little Rock, AR, in 1968. Then he was transferred to Atlanta, Georgia in
1969. In 1979 he started working for Bausch & Lomb in the industrial
tool division which was later sold and the company became Acu-Rite. He
was transferred back to Dallas, TX in 1984 and retired from Acu-Rite in
1998. He worked for McDowell Machinery for two and one-half years until
he quit working full time. He drove a school bus route for Durham
transportation for a while until he began having health problems.
Jack was well known in the machine tool industry. He had covered nearly
every state either as a sales representative or a regional manager. Jack
was a charter member of the Lewisville Church of Christ. He is preceded
in death by his parents, his sister Billie Harlan, and his infant son
Charlie who died in 1975. Jack is survived by his wife of 43 years, Oma
Elizabeth of Lewisville, TX; sons Jack Jr. of Flower Mound; Bill, Jim,
and Dan of Lewisville; daughter Serena of Kingsland; and five
grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Clarence Edward
Richardson of Ft. Worth; Kelly Richardson of Dallas; sister Ruby Bolton
of Mesquite; and brother-in-law George Harlan of Austin.
Funeral services were held at the Lewisville Church of Christ. Jack was
buried in Bolivar Cemetery in Bolivar, Texas. |
