OBITUARY

Joel Dean Riggs, was born on November 28, 1941 and passed on March 16, 2011.
Joel was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline Harder Riggs and his parents Jesse Vernon and Dorothy Marie Riggs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Frances Vandell Riggs. Her daughters Vanessa Oberholtzer and her husband Grier, Donna Hacker and her husband Bryan. His daughters Janice Carroll Vallin, her husband Armando, and Jessica Louise Warren and her husband Lee. Grandson Eric Rice and his wife Jennifer and granddaughter Danae Skiba. Grandson James Carroll Warren, and great grandchildren Conner and Ethan Rice.
Joe received a bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Arlington. He also served as First Lieutenant in the US Army from 1964 - 1966. He began his lifelong career with Exxon Co USA in 1967. Joe retired in 2000 and has enjoyed traveling the world with his friends and family. He also spent countless hours planning trips and outings for the Houston Area Exxon Mobile Retiree's club.
Joe enjoyed volunteering for the Society of St. Stevens at Kingwood United Methodist Church.
The memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Friday March 18th at Kingwood United Methodist Church, 1799 Woodland Hills Drive, Kingwood TX 77339. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society in the name of Joel Dean Riggs.
