OBITUARY
 
Ella Irene Greenwood Riska 1915 ~ 2005 Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Ella Irene Greenwood Riska p as sed away October 11, 2005 in Plano, Texas. Born December 8, 1915, Union, Utah to Charles A. and Irene Hilton Greenwood. Married William Drews Riska, in Salt Lake Temple on May 19, 1939. Ella was a graduate of Jordan High School and Brigham Young University. She enjoyed a long and illustrious career as a physical education teacher and later as an elementary school teacher. She received wide spread recognition for her innovative and highly successful teaching techniques dealing with so-called 'problem children. To her there was no such thing as a problem child. She was a talented painter; dancer and modern dance teacher and choreographer, and was a joy and inspiration to all who knew and loved her. EIla was a lifelong, faithful member of the LDS church. Survived by husband, William Drews Riska, sons Robert (Connie), Carrolton, Texas, Michael (Diane), Capitan, New Mexico, and Steven (Lisa), Sulphur Springs, TX, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. Sister, Dorothy G. Rasmussen, brother, Charles (Jean) Greenwood, Salt Lake City, Utah. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Bernice and Phyliss, son, Douglas Paul. Funeral under direction of Rhoton Funeral Home, Carrollton, Texas. Interment, October 14, Furneaua Cemetery, Carrollton, TX.
