Neva June Russell 1931 - 2020 RUSSELL, Neva June (Riney) Neva June Russell, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2020, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, surrounded by her loving family members. She was born December 14, 1931 in Pilot Point, Texas. Her family later moved to Carrollton where she graduated from Carrollton High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carrollton. In 1948 she married J.R. ("Buddy") Russell, a WWII veteran and a Carrollton HS graduate. They were married almost 55 years and lived in Carrollton until his death in 2003. June is survived by her daughter Dianne Lamar and husband Mark, her son Bob Russell and wife Cindy, grandchildren Robin Lamar, Brian Russell, Kevin Russell, and Cory Hickman, plus three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Inez (Bruner) Yarborough and Eldon Riney, stepfather Harvey Yarborough, and her sisters Foy Ellen Crowder and Mary Lynn George. In the past two years she has been living with her daughter Dianne Lamar and husband Mark in Burleson, where June enjoyed the companionship of their dogs Lucy and Maddie, and enjoyed watching episodes of Judge Judy, Perry Mason, Matlock, and Highway to Heaven. She was also an avid reader of mystery novels, and her favorite author was Mary Higgins Clark. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 1 at Metrocrest Funeral Home 1810 N. Perry Road in Carrollton.
