OBITUARY NEWTON PARRISH RUSSELL, 26, died Friday, Aug.
21 at San Rafael, Calif., Marin County.
Russell was accidentally killed while working on a dam near San Rafael.
His body was shipped to Carrollton for burial.
A veteran of World War II and the Korean campaign, Russell served in the
U.S. Navy.
Services were held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Guinn,
pastor of the Carrollton First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was in Perry
Cemetery with the Rhoton Funeral Home n charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Russell; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Lee
Russell, Carrollton; four brothers, Ernest, Clyde, Leon and Jerald
Russell, all of Carrollton three sisters, Mrs. Lyndell Wad, Mrs. Myrtle
Harwell, and Mrs. Gladys Pelt, all of Dallas.

NEWTON PARRIS (Toodie) died Saturday in San Rafael, Calif. Survived by
daughter, Ellen Russell; mother, Mrs. Minnie Russell, Carrollton; four
brothers, Ernest, Clyde, Leon and Jerald Russell, all of Carrollton;
three sisters, Mrs. Lyndell Ward, Mrs. Myrtle Harwell, Mrs. Gladys Pelt,
all of Dallas. Services Wednesday, 11:30 a.m., First Baptist Chruch,
Carrollton. Rev. Thomas Guinn officiating. Interment Perry Cemetery.
Pallbearers: James Noel, Ed Evans, Johnny Reed, Henry D. Perry, Bryan
Jones, Edwin Johnson, Wayne McCarty, Richard Harwell.
