Funeral services for George Lawrence Rutherford Jr., 76, of 445 Monssen, Dallas, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ed Cole officiating.

Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.

He died Monday morning in Medical City Hospital of Dallas.

Mr. Rutherford was born Jan. 6, 1908 in Hunt County; the son of G.L. and Josei Ardis Rutherford. He married Alma Peck on Feb. 14, 1930 in Sherman.

A retired teacher and pioneer aviator, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas.

Surviving are his wife of Dallas; daughter, Sallie Falzone of Houston; brother, James Rutherford of Greenville; sister, Louise Miller of Greenville and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Rutherford and William Medford Rutherford.

Pallbearers are John Miller, Sam Miller, Jim Rutherford, Bill Rutherford, Joe Rutherford and Med Rutherford.

Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
