Jake Sandlin was born on June 8, 1972 and passed away on April 25, 1997. He served as treasurer of the Phi Eta Sigma honor society, IFC delegate, and Centurion for Kappa Delta Rho.

Jake was enrolled as a sophomore at Tarleton at the time of his death. Prior to college he served four years in the Special Forces Airborne Division of the United States Army.

Jake Died from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred around 1:20 in the morning.

Jake Sandlin is survived by his mother, Mr. Jeanelle Rao of Carrollton, hid father, Mr. Mark Sandlin of Lewisville, his stepfather Mr. Dale Rao, his younger brother Matt Sandlin, and his half sister Sara Sandlin.

Jake was laid to rest at Pecan Gap Cemetery in Pecan Gap, Texas
