Derek Francis Scheuermann passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020, just ten days shy of his 28th birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Derek was born on October 14, 1992 in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in Carrollton, Texas and graduated from Hebron High School in 2011. Derek was an Eagle Scout with BS Troop 574 and earned his second-degree black belt in MMA at Carrollton Martial Arts. Derek moved to La Jolla, California in 2012. He was a barista at Starbucks and was one semester away from graduating college at ASU.

Surviving are his parents, Richard and Nancy Scheuermann, of La Jolla, CA, his brother Alex and sister-in-law Elizabeth of Dallas, TX and his kitties, Milo and Theo. Aunts, Uncles and many cousins will also miss him dearly.

A celebration of life will be held for Derek on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. by invitation.
