Kenneth Semons, age 74 and 50 year resident of Irving, died on November 25, 2013. He was born in Idabel, OK on June 9, 1939 to Peter Leroy Semons and Oleta Coran Semons and went on to teach for 30 years until his retirement. Along with teaching at Irving High School, Kenneth was an active member of the National Education Association and the Texas State Teaching Association. He was an OU football fan who also enjoyed watching basketball, gardening and the outdoors. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and will be missed by his beloved wife Margaret Semons; daughters Melinda Gresham of Cedar Park, TX and Kim Land and husband Jim of Arlington; brother Charles Semons of Idabel, OK; granddaughter Alyssa Perry and husband Adam of Houston; grandson Nathan Gresham of College Station and granddaughters Sydney and Addison Land of Arlington. Funeral Services will be held at Oak View Baptist Church in Irving at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 29, 2013 with interment immediately following at Perry Cemetery in Carrollton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2013.
