OBITUARY
Memorial services for Kathleen Marie Haberlin Sewell, 55, of
Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 4, at First United Methodist Church, Sulphur Springs, with
Reverend Debbie Riggsby officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
Kathleen Marie Haberlin Sewell died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Sunny Springs
Nursing Home, under the care of Legacy Hospice of Sulphur Springs.
She was born in Henderson, Nev., on Feb. 15, 1957, the only daughter of Norma
Jean and Joseph J. Haberlin. Her father was in the Air Force, moving the family
several times, living in Amarillo; Lyon, France; Wichita Falls and Farmers
Branch.
Kathleen graduated from R.L. Turner High School in 1975.
She moved to Boston, Mass., for two years following her graduation.
She then moved to Sulphur Springs, where she met and married Scotty Sewell.
Kathleen attended Texas A&M-Commerce for three and a half years.
She worked for NORCO at the University of Chicago as a researcher. She enjoyed
her co-workers and the opportunity to travel and meet many new people. She had
many opportunities to share her faith, her loving spirit and care with those she
met.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sulphur Springs, where
she was active in many ministries and always willing to lend a helping hand. She
will be greatly missed by her friends and church family.
Survivors include her son, Justin Sewell; and his father, Scotty Sewell; and one
cousin, Sandy Peters.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
