MEMORIAM The daughter of Wesley and Sally Ethel Rains Roberts, she was born in
Stringtown, Oklahoma September 17, 1933. Geneva grew up in Stringtown where she
graduated from highschool and then attended college in Kilgore, Texas. She
married Thomas Smith Sexton , Jr. in Durant, Oklahoma , January 8, 1960 and he
preceded her in death February 3, 1976.
Geneva retired in 1995 as secretary of the Carrollton First Baptist Church where
she had worked since the mid 1970's. Following her retirement, she continued to
work in the church as a volunteer in many areas. Her family shared her priority
of interest with the church and among her favorite activities with her family
was game playing. Other interests included gardening and quilting.
Surviving are her daughters, Lesa June Smith and her husband Brent of
Carrollton, and Lynda Geane Ryden and her husband Jason of Irving, Texas; three
grandchildren Tara Pardue and her husband Zeb of Dallas, Dayton Ryden, a student
at Midwestern State University, in Wichita Falls and Curren Ryden, a student at
Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas; four sisters, Helen Galyean of
Madill, Oklahoma, Fannie Westbrook of McAlester, Oklahoma, Patricia Roberts of
Roseburg, Oregon and Geane Kellogg and her husband Billy Guy of Daisy,
Oklahoma. |
