OBITUARY
Bill Shafer
April 14, 1942 - September 28, 2012

Leslie William Shafer, Jr. “Bill”, of Highland Village, TX passed away, Friday, September 28, 2012 at the age of 70. He was born on April 14, 1942 in Dallas, TX to Leslie William Sr. and Juanita “Tootsie” Shafer. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Bill was charming, well read, witty and tender hearted. He loved all music and enjoyed Karaoke at the Lake Dallas VFW. He also enjoyed boating, travel, coffee time with the geezers and with his Carrollton High School buddies. He was passionate about his Savior, charitable work with orphanages, local and on a trip to India, and the Ford Motor Company. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Jean; daughters, Margaret Wilkerson and husband John and Rebecca Shafer-Hill and partner Dianne Morgan; son, Jake Shafer; sisters, Marshalleen Mitchell Long and husband Melvin and Elizabeth Richardson; grandchildren, Sadie Hill, JR Hill, Charlie Hill and Shafer Wilkerson; very large extended family and circle of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Shafer. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, October 1, 2012 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville. Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 2, 2012, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in honor of Bill to Berean Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1009, Brookhaven, MS 39602-1009.
