Graveside services for George D. Shewmake, 79, Mineola, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola with Bro. Jim Parker officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under direction of Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola.

Mr. Shewmake died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, in Lubbock.

He was born Jan. 1, 1931, in Dunn to the late Amos W. and Rosetta Goode Shewmake. He had resided in Mineola since January of 2001, was a model train collector and a member of the Model Train Collectors Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Shewmake; brothers, Leige, John, Amos Wilson Jr., and Alford; and sister, Lena Cross.

He is survived by one sister, Christine Struder; three brothers, Elbert Shewmake, J.B. Shewmake, Marvin Shewmake; his lifelong friend, Calvin and Clara Jones; dear friends, Dan and Shirley Cupp, Ken and Linda Crisler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
