OBITUARY
JESSIE SHIPMAN

Shipman, Jessie Leon Passed away of heart disease Wednesday February 15, 2012 at his home in Rowlett, Texas. Born in Climax, Texas January 14, 1919 to Dan and Jennie Shipman, Leon grew up in McKinney, TX where he developed a love for music. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in music and a master's degree in elementary education. Leon worked in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, first as the high school band director and later as an elementary school teacher and choir director. Leon is survived by his wife, Jane; son, Roger of Denton, TX; daughter, Karen Gorrie, grandchildren, Marcia Shipman, Dan Shipman, John Gorrie, Shannon Gorrie; and brother, Charles Shipman of McKinney. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00pm, Sunday, February 19th at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00am, Monday, February 20th at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
