It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Doris New Sides on January 7th, 2025 at the age of 74. After years of suffering from dementia, she is now resting peaceful with our Savior. Betty was born on May 9, 1950 to William & Emily New in Salem, Arkansas. She was a longtime resident of the Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Lewisville areas, and graduated from R.L. Turner in 1968 where she was a proud Lionette. She met Billy Sides in 1971 and they married on Feb. 19 1972, raising their family with three beautiful children Karen Sides Fletcher, Amanda Sides Sauls and Billy Sides Jr for 52 years.

A true entrepreneur at heart, she owned and operated an antique mall in Farmers Branch, TX where she was able to show off her passion for antiques and of course shopping! She later moved on to work in the gift industry where she was awarded saleswoman of the year with One Coast. Betty was most known for her vibrant personality and smile, bringing joy and love to many while never meeting a stranger.

Along with her great accomplishments in the sales and gift industry, her proudest accomplishment was being the matriarch of her family or “Nonna”. She is survived by her husband Billy Sides Sr., two children Karen and Amanda, son in law Howard, daughter in law Laura, her eight grandchildren Tiffany Bays, Austin Fletcher, Ashley Downing, Maddie Maes, Connor Sides, Jake Sauls, Lilly Sides, Josh Sauls, nine great grandchildren Lexi Woods, Jasmine Castro, Willow St. Clair, Adran Downing, Ellie Downing, Caden Bays, Eric Maes Jr, McClain Maes, Lelia Fletcher, and one great great grandchild, Abel St. Clair. She is also survived by her siblings Cathy and husband Steve, Ron and wife Joan, Pat and wife Suzan, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and endless friends.

She was welcomed into heaven by her mother Emily New-Marr, father William New, step-father Jim Marr, brother Dennis New and son Billy Sides Jr.

Services will be held at Mulkey and Mason funeral home in Lewisville, TX. Viewing will be Monday, January 13th from 6:00-8:00pm. Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, January 14th at 11:00am with a short graveside service immediately following at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville, TX.

The family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hollymead rehabilitation center and nursing home in Flower Mound, TX for their amazing care during her stay.
