OBITUARY
 

Bettye Marie Sikes
Apr 7, 1928 - Dec 28, 2023

Bettye M. Sikes, 95 of Houston, Tx. died peacefully at home with family by her side. Bettye was born in Dallas in 1928 to Irma B. Singleton and Herschel J. Davis. She grew up in Carrollton Texas and graduated from Carrollton High School in 1946 when she married her high school sweetheart Charles R. Sikes who preceded her in death in 2000. They enjoyed life together for 54 years having lived in Dallas, Los Angeles, Austin, and Houston. They were longtime members of Lakeside Country Club and enjoyed golfing, ranching, and sharing time with family and friends. She leaves behind four children, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She is survived by daughters Deborah Nolen and husband Bob of New Braunfels, Cindy Beach of Sugar Land, Harriet Sikes of Sugar Land and one son Herschel Sikes and wife Barbara of Katy; grandchildren Melissa and husband James Walden, and Melinda and husband Michael Roehrig of Dallas, Brett Beach of Sugarland, Christopher Stump and wife Melissa, and Charles Stump of Houston, Lindsay Sikes Nicholson and husband Jonathon of McKinney, and Amy Sikes Kummer and husband Brett of Katy; Great Grandchildren Jenna and husband Pat Bell of Madrid Spain, Jarrett Walden and wife Melanie of Pensacola Fl., Joy Walden of Dallas, Madalyn Roehrig of Dallas and Matthew Roehrig and wife Madyson, of Dallas, Charles Ryan Stump II of Houston, and Preston Davis Kummer and Caroline Grace Kummer both of Katy; Finley Marie Nicholson and Davis Bryan Nicholson of McKinney; and just recently in September, her first great-great grandchild, Rylynn Grace Roehrig entered her life. In addition she is survived by numerous cousins in Texas and California.

Internment and a celebration of her life will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery and Funeral Home in Houston Texas. The family would like to thank her devoted doctors and caregivers for their love and compassion while caring for our mom.
