Alma Pauline “Polly” Sill

Alma Pauline”Polly” Riggs Sill of Aubrey and former long time resident of Carrollton passed from this life in the early hours of January 25, 2010 after a lifelong battle with diabetes.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Spence Riggs and mother, Alma Lucille Brumfield Riggs of Dallas, brother Jerry Lee Riggs, sister Betty Joyce Hopkins and granddaughter Krystal Nikkole Knight. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Raymond E. Sill of Aubrey, sons Donn Sill and wife Pinney of The Colony, Keith Sill of Hale, Beau Sill and wife Barbara of Highland Village, Daughter Susan Sill Rasmussen and husband Tony of The Colony, brother Douglas Riggs, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was a certified Red Cross Swimming Instructor at the Valwood Pool in Farmers Branch, she was a gymnastic instructor at Sokol Dallas.She was a 1957 graduate of Crozier Tech High School in Dallas. Polly obtained degrees from DCCCD, Mountain View and TWU. She was employed with the Us Postal Service where she retired in 1996 after 20 years of service.

A visitation with the family was held Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at North Dallas Funeral Home.The funeral will be held at 10 am Thursday, January 28, 2010 in the Chapel of North Dallas Funeral Home 2710 Valley View Lane Farmers Branch, TX 972-241-9100 interment will be held at 2 pm in the Grove Hill Memorial Park 3920 Samuell Blvd. Dallas, TX 75228.
