Roy Simmons Died
Roy Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Simmons of Hebron, died at their home a
short distance north of Hebron about 1 o'clock a.m. Saturday, Jan 18, after a
long sickness, diabetes being cause of death. He was about twenty-six years of
age.
Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Joe
Morgan of Ft. Worth conducting the services, Interment was in
Cemetery Hill. A large
gathering of people came to pay their last sand respects to a boy who had
suffered for many years and more his trials so patiently that he was loved by
all who knew him. many floral offerings spoke the love they bore. Lucas
Undertaking Co had charge of the funeral.
He is survived by his father and mother and brothers and sisters some of whom we
are unable to name; those we know of being Ray, Charlie, Dillon, Mrs. Wm.

Williams ROY SIMMONS DIES AT HEBRON
On Saturday morning Jan. 18 the death angel claimed the life of Roy Clinton
Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Simmons who reside near Hebron. Roy was 26
years of age and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. Funeral services were
conducted at the family home by Rev. R. B. Morgan of Ft. Worth assisted by Rev.
R. L. Ray, pastor of the Hebron Baptist church, of which the deceased had been a
member since early childhood.
The deceased has borne his long affliction with the greatest of patience.
The high esteem in which he was held was very beautifully portrayed in the
floral offerings, together with the large number of friends who gathered as
their last token of love and respect.
Besides his father and mother he is survived by five brothers; Charlie and J.D.
of Dallas; Ray of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Barnie and D. B., of Hebron, Nine
sisters; Mrs. Emma Hazelwood and Mrs. Ernie Pistole of Addison. Mrs. Lue Wagoner
and Mrs. A. A. Moss of Dallas; Mrs. J. L. Holbert, Mrs. Edison Dudley, Mrs. Will
