OBITUARY
 
IN MEMORY OF LOIS RAY SIMONS
March 6, 1929 - June 7, 2011

Lois Ray Simons, 82, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2011 with his family surrounding him with love and prayers. "LR" as he was affectionately called is survived by his three children, Debbie and Bill Smith of Coppell, Terry and Glenda Simons of Carrollton and Theresa and Crockett Patterson of Carrollton. Seven grandchildren, Jason Tutrow, Scott Simons, Cody Smith, Blake Patterson, Dallas Patterson, Jeffrey Patterson and Kaleigh Simons-Miller. Six great grandchildren; Haleigh Tutrow, Avery Tutrow, Colton Patterson, Jack Simons, Caycee Patterson and Hank Simons. LR is survived by three brothers, Otis Simons of Dallas, TX, Nolan Simons of Pasadena, TX, and CW Simons of LaMarque, TX and one sister, Rosemary Cooper of Bowie, TX. He was preceded in death by many family members and friends.

LR was ordained a Southern Baptist Minister in 1955. His career as a minister included missionary work, building programs and full time ministry for West Forest Lane Baptist, Belaire Baptist, Fellowship Baptist and First Baptist Church of Coppell. LR also owned and operated Simons & Simons Plumbing Company in Carrollton for over 30 years.

He played semi-professional baseball in 1949 and followed his passion for sports his entire life and was a great supporter of all his grandchildrens' participation in sports. His love for cars was express through his love to watch his grandsons race each weekend. His love for the Lord was evident in all aspects of his life and the love for his family will always and forever be felt.

Dad, Pawpaw, Uncle Ray, Brother Simons-the angels welcomed you home. We love you and you will be forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be at the Rhoton Funeral Home from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Friday, June 10th. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11th at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton with interment to follow in Hilltop Memorial Park in Carrollton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dallas Baptist Association of Missions, 8001 East R.L. Thornton Frwy, Dallas, TX 75228.
