OBITUARY
 
Nancy Hammers-Simpson "Hoot"
Wednesday, December 5th, 1956 - Sunday, April 24th, 2022

Nancy Hammers-Simpson known to family as “Hoot” passed away on April 24, 2022, in Irving, Texas at the age of sixty-five. She was born on December 5, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas to father, Cecil Earl Hammers, and mother, Nancy Marjean McClaran. Nancy graduated from R.L. Turner Highschool in Carrollton, Texas. After graduating Nancy went on to work for Schaffer Equipment as an accountant for the last 10 years. She was an avid reader. Nancy loved to shop, and it was known that shopping was in Nancy’s blood. Nancy was a devoted dog mother and loved animals, especially horses. She will always be remembered for her generosity and willingness to always pay it forward. Nancy would go out to eat and find an elderly couple and anonymously pay for their meal. Nancy was a connoisseur of good food, a devoted sister, and a Norte Dame Fan.

Nancy is preceded in death by her father, Cecil Hammers; stepfather, Malcolm “Mac” McGee; stepbrother, Marcus McGee; nephew, Harris McGee; and nephew, Cameron McGee. Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Nancy McGee; sister, Cora Earlene Giddens, and husband Brian; stepbrother, Michael McGee; nieces and nephews: Christina and wife Becky, Jordan, Grace and husband Ryan, and Nancy; great niece, Leila; as well as numerous other family and friends who will miss Nancy dearly.

I lieu of flowers donations can be made to Colon Cancer Research, the Irving Humane Society. or St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
