Janet
Mae (Barnes) Slovak passed away June 13, 2018 in Greenville, TX. She was
born January 5, 1945 in New Boston, TX to William and Hazel Barnes. She
spent her early teens in Farmers Branch, TX , lived in Houston and
Dallas, and spent the last 17 years in Greenville. Janet worked 35 years
at Texas Instruments and ESystems of which she later retired. She
attended Carrollton High School, Carrollton, TX from 1959 to 1962.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Bill and Phinis
Barnes; and two sisters, Wanda and Rita Barnes. Immediate survivors
include her two daughters, Teresa Mitchell (husband, Jack) of Oklahoma
and Karen Reschke of East Texas; one son, Jimmy Slovak of Oklahoma.
Janet is also survived by six
sisters: Joyce Caler from Garland, TX; Shirley Donahue (husband, Mike)
from Caddo Mills, TX; Kathy Warren (husband, Dave) from Greenville, TX;
Becky Singh (husband, Michael) from Royce City, TX; Brenda Deakins
(husband, Larry) from Allen, TX; and Linda Snyder from Florida and many
grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
Janet loved to fish, crochet, and make homemade soap. Janet was a caring
person with a kind heart. She loved the Lord and tried to live her life
that way. She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Restland’s
Abbey Chapel in the Abbey Mausoleum at 12:30 with visitation one hour
prior to the service at Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at Restland
Cemetery. Pastor Mike Donahue is officiating under the direction of
Restland Funeral Home. |

Janet was born on January 5, 1945 and passed away on Wednesday, June 13,
2018.
Janet was a resident of Texas at the time of passing.
She attended Carrollton High School, Carrollton, TX from 1959 to 1962.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Restland's Abbey Chapel
in the Abbey Mausoleum at 12:30 with visitation one hour prior to the service at
