Charles Ray "Mohawk" Smith was born on February 9, 1929 in Dallas, Texas and after a lengthy illness, died on November 28, 2002, Thanksgiving Day.  His parents, William earl Smith and Grace Parrott Smith, precede him in death.  Charles graduated from Carrollton High School and  served honorably in the U.S. Navy.  He owned and operated Carrollton Steel Machine Shop, Mohawk Skating Rink, and later retired from Texas Instruments.  His sisters, Evelyn Thompson and Peggy Taylor both of Carrollton, his daughters, Susan Nall of Midland and Stephanie Moore of Lewisville and their mother Mary Smith of Carrollton survive him.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and friends.  Memorial services for Charles will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2002 at 4:00 pm at the Metrocrest Funeral Home, 1810 N. Perry, In Carrollton, Texas.
