While trying to find classmate information for Turner Class of 1983, I found a post about David Smith. David graduated in 1983 and sadly
passed away as noted in the conversation on line. To be clear, David did not purposely take his own life. Along with his partners and good friends, David was in New York and was celebrating the showing of his first full length feature film at Lincoln Center. He was having one of the best nights of his life when he died of an accidental over...dose of drugs and alcohol. It was a tragic loss for our family, friends and the film community but we take comfort in knowing he was happy and successful with his work in independent film. David inspired so many of us to carry on with our own creative endeavors. I am so proud of my brother and will miss him forever. I hope many of you will have funny, happy and wonderful memories of him.
