OBITUARY Jim E. Smith, 70, Farmers Branch
Merchant, Passes
Jim E. Smith, 70, who had spent his entire life in Farmers Branch, died
Sunday night in a local hospital after an illness of several months. Funeral
services will be conducted by the Rev. A. L. Law at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the home
of Mrs. H. M. Ford, a sister, in Farmers Branch, with burial in the
Webb Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Smith, one of the community's best-known men, for many years ran a general
store in Farmers Branch. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Oscar Newton of Fort Worth, and a
sister-in-law, Mrs. W. I. Smith of Dallas.

OBITUARY
Farmers Branch Man Dies Sunday Night In Dallas Hospital
Jim E. Smith, 70, Farmers Branch, died Sunday night in a Dallas hospital
after an illness of several months.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the home of Mrs. H. M. Ford, a
sister, and were conducted by Rev. A. L. Law. Burial was at Webb Chapel
Cemetery, in charge of Rhoton Undertakers.
Jim E. Smith was born at Farmers Branch July 29, 1870, and resided there all his
life. He was one of the community's best known men and for many years ran a
general store there. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include the two sisters, Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Oscar Newton of Ft. Worth
and a sister-in-law, Mrs. W. I. Smith of Dallas.
