In Loving Memory
Linda Marilyn Smith
11/9/1943 - 3/1/2012

Linda Marilyn (Kruse) Smith, age 68, died peacefully in her home on Thursday, March 1, 2012. She was born November 9, 1943 in Athens, GA to Noble Ivan and Doris Edna (Tolbert) Kruse. She grew up in Farmers Branch, TX and was a 1962 graduate of Carrollton High School. She received a Bachelors Degree in Education from North Texas State University and later a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Development from UCO. She taught first grade for a few years in Haltom City, TX before moving to Yukon in 1977 where she taught kindergarten in Yukon Public Schools before retiring in 2003. She was a member of Yukon UMC where she taught in the Sunday School Department. She was preceded in death by her parents and one very special grand daughter Bailey. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Jim of the Home in Yukon, one son Craig Smith, wife Brenda and son Brandon all of Yukon. Also by two brothers Dennis Kruse and wife Madison of Dallas, TX, Bob Kruse and wife Jacque of Whitney, TX one sister Beverly Witt and husband Steve of Houston, one sister in law Emogene House of Denton, TX and nieces and nephews: Sandra Robinson and husband Randy, Karen House, Deon Scheinberg and husband Bob, Nikki Stanfield and husband Marc, Allissa Bohling and husband Chad, Brian Witt and wife Jennifer and Dominick Kruse. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the “Bailey Smith Education Fund” at Redlands Community College. Donations may be made through McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service. Services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Yukon United Methodist Church under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
