OBITUARY
 
    William L. “Bill” Smith, 80, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012, in Bowie, Texas.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church of Bowie with Sara Hardaway officiating.

Graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Furneaux Cemetery of Carrollton, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 6 til’ 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the White Family Funeral Home.

Arrangements are entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.

Bill was born October 5, 1931, to William Dell and Etta Mae (Jenkins) Smith in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in Carrollton, Texas, and was a graduate of Carrollton High School. Bill served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, Artillery Division, in the Korean War. He married Edna Swirczynski on November 15, 1958, in Dallas, Texas. Bill retired from Frontier Airlines in Denver, Colorado, and returned to Texas where he enjoyed ranching for a few years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years of marriage, Edna Smith of Bowie; five brothers-in-law and their wives; two sisters-in-law; and numerous cousins.
