OBITUARY

Mrs. Mable Sparkman
Mrs. Mable G. Sparkman, 63, of 5500 Richard, a life-long Dallas resident, died in a Dallas hospital Monday after a long illness.
Mrs. Sparkman was an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 40 years.
Survivors are a son, W. R. Sparkman; two sisters, Mrs. W. R. Sampley and Mrs. Lula Echols; two brothers, F. R. McDowell, Z. H. McDowell, J. L. McDowell; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of Dallas.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Weiland-Merritt Funeral Chapel 2909 Live Oak. Burial will be in Farmers Branch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Pat McDowell, Lee Wann, Aubrey Thorn, J. A. McDowell, Clarence Cheney and A. E. Alrod.

  • Mabel is buried at the Keenan.  She and Clifton Sparkman must have gotten married and divorced between 1910 and 1920 census.  He is married to another woman on the 1920 census with a 2 year-old son.  Clifton Sparkman is buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Dallas Co., TX
