OBITUARY
SPENCER,
JR., Mack Mack Spencer, Jr., age 83, entered his Heavenly home on
January 29, 2018 after a brief Illness. Mack was born October 12, 1934
in Sallisaw, OK. and was the seventh of nine children born to Mack and
Mandy Spencer. His early years were spent in Vian, OK. He graduated from
Crooked Oak High School in Oklahoma City in1953. He married his high
school sweetheart, Louise Roberts Spencer in 1955. While in high school
he lettered in football and basketball. Later he was active in several
church softball leagues and was well known in Oklahoma City for his fast
pitch. He also coached his son's baseball team. In his early work
career, he was a carpenter building houses. In 1956, he joined Ford
Motor Company at their Parts Distribution Center and retired after 30
years of service. He was proud to be a UAW Member. Mack accepted Jesus
as his Savior as a young man and was baptized in a fork of the Arkansas
River in Vian, OK. He was a Baptist and served in the various churches
where he was a member. After becoming ill, he enjoyed watching the First
Baptist Church, Atlanta Ga. televised sermons by Dr. Charles Stanley. He
is survived by wife, Louise Spencer; sons, Randy and Cheryl Spencer,
Rowlett, Tx; Jeff and Larie Spencer, Dallas, Tx.; daughter, Cathy and
Jorge Cavazos, Farmers Branch, Tx, 6 grandchildren, 3
great-grand-daughters; two brothers, Clary Spencer, Jones, OK., Roy
Spencer, Carrollton, Tx., one sister Linda Cantrell, Tyler, Tx. He is
preceded in death by parents; brother, Truman Spencer; sisters, Vivian
Dykes, Lela Adair, Lillian Townsen, and Patsy Pruitt. Funeral Service
will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Rhoton Funeral
Home, Carrollton, Tx. with visitation 30 minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow the service in Keenan Cemetery, Farmers Branch, Tx. A
reception will follow the burial at El Fenix, 3128 Forest Ln., Suite
240, Dallas, Texas 75234. Corner of Forest & Webb Chapel. |
