BETTY STADT
1929 - 2015

Betty Joann Stadt, 86, passed away October 27, 2015 in Canon City, CO. The only child of John M. and R. Gladys (French) Laughlin, she was born September 4, 1929 in Chicago, IL. In June of 1968, Betty, a single mother of two teenagers and Richard L. Stadt, Jr., also a single parent of two children were united in marriage in IL. Together, they had two more children and were inseparable for 23 years. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1991, 24 YEARS TO THE DAY BEFORE BETTY. In 1982, Betty began working at Military Model Distributors in Carrollton, TX, starting part-time and after 22 years, retired as a Sales Manager in 2004. Mrs. Stadt is survived by her children, Sharon (Stan) Rhodes of Canon City, CO, Beverly Hastings of Cookeville, TN, Robert (Leighann) Stadt of Denton, TX and David (Rachelle) Stadt of Munster, IN, step son Richard Lee (Robin) Stadt of Frisco, TX, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a step daughter Pamela Stadt in 2013 and her beloved Min Pin, "Penney" in February of 2015. At her request, no services will be held in Colorado. Betty will be inurned in Texas, next to the love of her life by the family, in a graveside remembrance at the Furneaux Pioneer Cemetery on November 22, 2015. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson Funeral Home.
