Gara spends much of his time singing and studying music. During his school days he has enjoyed Typing, American History, and the Boys' Choral Club. Next year he hopes to study in college.

 

OBITUARY
 
Gara Stark

Services for Gara Stark, 88, of Tyler will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with Monsignor Joseph Strickland officiating. Burial is in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mr. Stark passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, in Tyler.

He was born on Dec. 26, 1922, in Dallas to the late Henry Oscar and Leila Ada Coppedge Stark. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He lived in Tyler since 1949 and was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He was employed from 1949 to 1986 by the Texas Employers Insurance Association and Employers Casualty of Texas and was a chartered life underwriter. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Stark of Tyler; daughters, Suzanne Perkins of Tyler, Charlotte VandeVen of Arlington, Melanie Pickrell of Whitehouse and Jill Barber of Tyler; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and brother, Wilson C. Stark of Lewisville.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
