OBITUARY

Zetta Stavely

SANTA FE - Mrs. Zetta Lee Stavely passed from this life Saturday morning, May 26, 2007, in Webster.

Born September 23, 1925 in McAllister, OK, Mrs. Stavely had been a resident of Santa Fe for 63 years, previously of Dallas. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, a member of Arcadia Christian Church since 1963 and a past member of the Santa Fe Home Extension Club. She was a 22-year member of the Rebecca Lodge #138 in Alvin and had served the lodge in every capacity possible. She had also been a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, and was a lifetime member of the PTA, actively involved from 1955 – 1972.

Preceded in death by her parents, David and Leona (Hatley) Nelson; brothers, Richard, Horace, Morris “Shorty”, and Leonard and sisters, Flora, Gracie, Edna, survivors include her loving husband of over 59 years, John J. “Junior” Stavely; daughter, Pam Stavely of Alvin; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Gloria Stavely of Santa Fe; sister, Stella F. Bowers of Quinlan; grandchildren, Stacie Holt and husband, Randal, Jeff Jones, Michael Stavely and William Stavely; great-grandchildren, Loree and Clayton Holt, Caleb Jones and William D. Stavely and numerous special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Minister Paul E. Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.

Casketbearers will be Ronnie Hughes, Jeff Jones, Randal and Stacie Holt, Clyde Stavely *, Jim Stavely and Tommy Stavely. Honorary bearers will be Marty Adams, Bill Liefert and Roland McGinnes.

Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.

Mrs. Stavely wanted to offer a special thank you to her nieces, Karen Lockhart and Wanda Johnson for taking care of her sister, Stella.
