MEMORIALS

It is with a saddened heart that I announce the passing of my good friend Mr Alan Stone this morning around 4am, September 20th, 2021... He was in the Class of 1978.
He will be missed dearly as the soft spoken, good hearted Tornado chaser that he was. He is survived by the love of his life Bobby and his two children Sarah Stone and the son I don't know his name.
I've known Alan since our RL Turner days and he had such a timid and kind demeanor about him. He was soft spoken but a very very brave man to do what he loved to do... chasing bloody tornados! He will be missed bunches and bunches from all of us. Guess we'll see you on the other side Alan. I pray this passing leads you to the Heaven you deserve.... From your friends

My old friend, Alan Stone made his heavenly exit this morning. His strong faith in Jesus was his rock during a life of trials. I will see him again.
Alan was a storm chaser, often taking other adventurers with him. Tracking tornadoes is what he loved to do. I arrived at the hospice unit this morning for another visit. This time, his door was open, bed empty, and maid busy cleaning the vacant room. I didn't have to ask, I knew. His daughter, Sarah Stone had just signed out about an hour prior to my visit.
As I pushed the elevator button to return to the lobby, an old song from church hit me. I hadn't heard it in about 42 years. I couldn't help but sing it under my COVID mask all the way down the corridors and out to the car. Part of the lyrics go something like this:. "...so let the storms rage high, the dark clouds rise. They don't worry me, for I'm sheltered safe within the arms of God...". Goodnight, Alan Stone
