OBITUARY John Emmitt
Stoneman Jr.
NASSAU BAY - John Emmitt Stoneman Jr., 31, grandson of former Merkel
residents, the laet Odell Crow and Vernell Crow of Friendswood, and cousin of
several Abilene residents, was found Sunday in Galveston Bay.
Services will be at 2. p.m. Wednesday at Jack Rowe Cathedral Chapel in League
City with the Rev. Stan McKinnon officiating. Graveside services will be at 3
p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel.
Born in Lubbock, he lived in Dallas and moved to Nassau Bay six years ago.
He graduated from Carrollton High School and attended North Texas State
University.
He was a vice president of Texas Underground Co. in Pearland.
In addition to his grandmother of Friendswood, he is survived by his parents,
John and Betty Stoneman Sr. of Friendswood; a brother, Tommy Stoneman of
Friendswood; and two sisters, Lynn Reese of Froendswood and Lisa Burns of
Dallas.

Underground Co. in Pearland, Texas. Survived by parents, John & Betty Stoneman
of Friendswood, brother, Tommy Stoneman of Friendswood; sister Lynn Reese of
Friendswood, Lisa Burns of Dallas; grandmother, Vernell Crow of Friendswood.
Service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jack Rowe Catherdral Chapel with Rev. Stan McKinnon
officiating. Graveside Service 3:00 p.m. Thursday, Rose Hill Cemetery, Merkel,

NASSAU BAY - John E. Stoneman, Jr. 31, died Saturday in Galveston.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Jack Rowe Funeral Home, the Rev. Stan
McKinnon presiding.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in
Merkel, Texas under the direction of the funeral home.
Born May 2, 1957 in Lubbock, Stoneman was vice president for Texas Underground
Co.
A graduate of Carrollton High School, Stoneman attended North Texas State
University. He is a former resident of Dallas and lived in Nassau Bay for six
years.
Survivors include his parents, John and Betty Stoneman, Sr. of Friendswood;
brother, Tommy Stoneman of Friendswood; sisters, Lynn Reese of Friendswood and
Lisa Burns of Dallas, and grandmother Vernell Crow of Friendswood.
