CARSON WAYDELL STOOKSBERRY
STOOKSBERRY, CARSON WAYDELL Carson Waydell Stooksberry passed away 1-1-06 from complications of Alzheimer's. He was born on 7-18-1923 in rural Hunt Co., TX at the family farmhouse near the community of Yowell to John R. and Sudie Whiteside Stooksberry. He served in WW II and Korea with the U.S. Army 79th Infantry Division earning the rank of Tech. 5. He earned his BS and ME degrees from ETSU and was a teacher with D.I.S.D until his retirement in 1985. Carson was a Board member and a past President of the Kiwanis and greatly enjoyed fishing, outdoor activities and vegetable gardening. Carson was preceded in death by his wife of 50 yrs., Ruby Jean Essary Stooksberry, six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by daughter Janice Stooksberry and husband Jack Hardin, son Rick and wife Carla, son John K., granddaughters Cara and Amber and brother Finis and wife Martha. The family will receive visitors on Friday, 1-6-06, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Metrocrest Funeral Home, 1810 N. Perry Road, Carrollton, TX 75006. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, 1-7-06 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch, 13017 Wm. Dodson Parkway, Farmers Branch, TX 75234 followed by burial at Hilltop Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Carson may be made either to the First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch or to the Alzheimers Association, 4144 N.
