OBITUARY
William
Arnold Strawbridge Jr.
November 25, 1950 - May 19, 2024
William Arnold Strawbridge Jr, 73, passed away on May 19th 2024. He was
born in Aberdeen, Mississippi to William Sr. and Helen Strawbridge on
November 25th 1950. William (or Bill to those who knew and loved him),
lived in Carrollton Tx and Graduated from R.L Turner High School in
1969, where he played for the school football team.
He went on to marry his high school sweetheart Diane Ford in February of
1970, and the following year had their First daughter Angela. He later
worked for the city of Carrollton and had their Second daughter Deann in
1978, who would later give him his 4 grandchildren who knew him as
"papa". He had lived in Gladewater, Tx and Longview where he worked for
the city until he retired in 2000 and moved to Shreveport in 2015 where
he would live until his passing.
William was a Great father and an even more amazing grandfather. He had
so much love in his heart and was willing to do whatever he could for
his family, no matter the cost. He was one of the most caring people and
loved his grandchildren more than anything in the world.
He also loved to travel and sports, as he would take his wife and
daughters on all sorts of trips in their younger years but even as he
aged he still loved to go to Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas with his younger
brother Phillip almost every year. He coached a male softball team in
the 1980’s and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and attended several
cowboy games in his life.
William is preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Helen
Strawbridge, his wife, Diane Ford, his mother and father in law, Max and
Beryl Ford, brother, Quinton, Grandson Danzig, and many brother and
sister in laws.
He is survived by his oldest daughter Angela Strawbridge, youngest
daughter Deann Strawbridge, His three Grandchildren, only granddaughter
Ella Dews, oldest grandson Christopher Dews, and youngest grandson
Matthew Dews, his youngest brother Phillip, Youngest sister Priscilla,
as well as many nephews and nieces. |
