WEDDING
Fischer-Stuart Vows Exchanged
Miss Sharon Kay Fischer became the bride of Robert Weymond Stuart, August 13
in the First Baptist Church, Haskell, at 8 p.m. with Bro. H. G. Hammer, retired,
reading the vows.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Fischer of Sagerton, Texas, and
Mr. and Mrs. Louis B. Stuart, 2972 Lavita Lane, Farmers Branch.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an original gown of Chantilly
lace and tulle over satin. The fitted bodice had a high collared neckline and
long sleeves extending to points over hands. The skirt and yoke of the dress was
re-embroidered with seed pearls. The skirt was also enhanced with a lace
overskirt atop tiered layers of tulle.
Her elbow lenght veil of self-illusion with lace applicated around the scalloped
bottom was attached to a princess style crown of seed pearls. She carried a
white satin covered Bible topped with feathered carnations, white orchid and
English ivy.
Mrs. Douglas Morris, sister of the bride was matron of honor; Dolores Stryker of
Dallas and Susie Stuart, sister of the groom, served as bridemaids.
Best man was father of the groom, Groomsmen were James Swafford and Larry
Goodrich, both of Farmers Branch. Candlelighters were Don Mueller and Phil
Coleman, both of Stamford. Flower girl was Gene Lynn Fischer, niece of the bride
of Stamford with Terry Lee Morris, nephew of the bride from Hereford as
ringbearer. Miss Carolyn Fischer, cousin of bride was organist and Douglass W.
Morris, brother-in-law of the bride, was vocalist. Ushers were Gene Fischer,
brother of the bride, of Stamford, and David Fischer bride's cousin,. of
Haskell.
Sharon is a 1964 graduate of Rule High School and since that time has been
employed by the Central Bank and Trust Company, Farmers Branch.
Robert graduated in 1964 from R. L. Turner High School, went to North Texas
State University and is now attending Rutherford IBM school. He is
employed by Texas Instruments in Richardson.
The bride's parents hosted a reception in the church annex. Mrs. Gene Fischer,
Susan Gholson and Elaine Elmore were in the houseparty.
After a short wedding trip, the couple is at home at 2875 Villa Creek, Apt 220,
Farmers Branch.
