OBITUARY

LOU ANN KUBIAK SZYMANSKI
1944 – 2018

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Lou Ann Kubiak Szymanski, 73, of Porter, Texas, at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond, Texas, with Father Celso Yu officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Lou Ann was in the presence of her loving family when our Lord and Savior called her to her heavenly home Thursday, May 17, 2018. Lou Ann was born Dec. 4, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, to John Marion and Sophie Sarafin Kubiak. In 1964, she graduated from R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas. Following graduation, she met her future husband, Norman Szymanski of Bremond, Texas. Lou Ann and Norman’s relationship blossomed and shortly thereafter joined in Holy Matrimony on June 25, 1966. Together, they resided in Houston, Texas, where Lou Ann attended nursing school and graduated as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1973. Lou Ann later traded in her nurse’s cap and uniform to be a homemaker after learning that she and Norman were blessed and would begin a new family.
In 1981, Lou Ann and her family moved to Porter, Texas, where they raised their two daughters, Cindy and Sharon. Lou Ann had many hobbies and enjoyed being home to care for her family. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed fishing and tended to her flowerbeds and plentiful vegetable gardens. She did her best with the gifts God gave her in caring for her family and others in need. She enjoyed being in the company of family and friends, who shared her love of laughter.
Lou Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Norman, and her parents.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy Szymanski-Armatys and Mark Armatys of Navasota, Sharon Szymanski and Mike Weber of Kingwood; grandchildren, Matthew Armatys of Navasota, Amia Weber, Keyara Weber, and soon to be granddaughter, Elizabeth Nora-Ann Weber of Kingwood; and brother, Mike Wichkoski, and sister-in-law, Rubina Wichkoski of Gainsville; along with a host of friends made through the years.
A ‘special thank you’ to Oasis Hospice and employees Evelyn, Marla, Lyn, Verena, Cynthia and Alberto for their dedicated and remarkable service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in memoriam to St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Bremond, Texas.
