OBITUARY

E. Tanner
On Wednesday night of last week, God looking down toward earth, discovered one on his children who had served more his allotted three score years and ten, so he sent his death angel for the spirit of E. Tanner, saying "Come up higher".
Mr. E. Tanner was born at Livermore, McLead County, Ky; October 7, 1849 and moved to Illinois at the age of 11 years. He married Mrs. Annie Miller Jan. 29, 1893. In February 1915 he was converted under the preaching of Rev. Fuller and united with the Methodist Church of Carrollton.
In his death the community has lost a good citizen, the church a faithful consistent member, the neighbors a good neighbor and the wife a good husband. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and two step children, MR. Clarence Miller of Carrollton and MR. Jones of Sherman

"A precious one from us has gone.
A voice we live is still;
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
God in his wisdom has recalled
The boon his law had given,
And although the body slumbers here
The soul is safe in heaven
(A Neighbor)
