OBITUARY
Burn Victim's Rites Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. O. P. Thomas, 79, who succumbed to burns Monday
evening at her home, 202 Clinton, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at
Laughter-North chapel with the Rev. Harlie Woolard, pastor of the First
Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas had been in critical condition since Nov. 13 when she was badly
burned after her clothing caught fire from a gas stove. She was the widow of the
late O. P. Thomas who died in 1925.
Mrs. Thomas was born at Farmers Branch, Dallas county, on Dec. 29, 1867.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Thomas of Abilene and Mark Thomas of Temple;
four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren

OBITUARY
Mrs. Thomas Dies of Burns
Mrs. O. P. Thomas, 79, longtime resident of Abilene, died last night at
7:30 at her home, 202 Clinton.
Her condition had been critical since Nov 13, when she was badly burned after
her clothing had caught fire from a gas stove.
She was the wife of the late O. P. Thomas, who came here in 1900 from Dallas and
was prominent in the cotton business until his death in 1925.
Funeral is to be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at laughter North chapel with the
Rev. W. Harlie Woolard, pastor of the First Christian church in charge of the
service.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd of Abilene and Mark of Temple, and one
granddaughter, Jenny Lou of Temple, four great grandchildren, Lonita, Bristol,
Evelyn and Fred C., all of Abilene, and a nephew, Mark A. Elliston of Dallas.
Mrs, Thomas was born at Farmers Branch, Dallas County, on Dec 29, 1867
