OBITUARY
THOMPSON ANNIE D. BAXLEY, lifelong resident and
descendant of two pioneer Carrollton families, on Sunday, January 28,
2001, in her 90th year. Daughter of the late Claude E. Baxley and the
late Amanda Skelton Baxley; widow of the late H. E. (Chic) Thompson;
mother of Nancy Thompson Adams and her husband, Rex; grandmother of Judd
W. Adams and Amanda A. Adams; sister of the late Henry A. Baxley, the
late Theta Baxley Russell and the late Mildred Baxley Good; aunt of
Doris Baxley Bresnan. Friends may call at the funeral home of Martin J.
Thompson, 224 East College Street, Grapevine, and are invited to attend
a Service of Remembrance First United Methodist Church 1820 Pearl Street
Carrollton Friday afternoon 2 o'clock February 2, 2001 Dr. Thomas R.
Peel will preside. The concluding service will follow at
Hilltop Memorial Park. The family will receive guests one hour prior
to the service in the church sanctuary. It is suggested that memorials
be directed to the Perry Cemetery Association, 2114 Antibes Drive,
Carrollton, Texas 75006. W. Kent Adair Director.

OBITUARY
Annie D. Thompson
Services for Annie D. Thompson, 89, a lifelong resident of Carrollton
and a descendant of two pioneer families of the Peters Colony, were held
Feb. 2 at the First United Methodist Church of Carrollton with Dr.
Thomas R. Peel officiating.
Burial was in Hilltop Memorial Park under the direction of W. Kent
Adair.
Mrs. Thompson died Jan. 28 at a local convalescent center after a long
illness.
She was born Feb. 19, 1911, the third of four children to Claude Edward
Baxley and Amanda Skelton Baxley. She was a 1929 graduate of Carrollton
High School. Mrs. Thompson was also a member of First United Methodist
Church of Carrollton and for many years was the owner/operator of
Russell's Cleaners and Barber Shop near the northwest corner of the
Carrollton square. She was a longtime supporter of the Perry Cemetery
Association, where her parents and other ancestors are buried.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Thompson Adams of Carrollton;
grandchildren Judd W. Adams of Tokyo and Amanda A. Adams of Carrollton;
and a niece, Doris Baxley Bresnan of Palm Springs, Calif.The
