OBITUARY
THOMPSON , DENNIS , We lost a very good friend today, a very, very good
friend. Yet, I know that Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit said,
"Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death is your victory? Where,
O death is your sting?....But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through
Jesus Christ our Lord!" (I Cor. 15:54-57) So it is at times like this when we
feel the hurt of loss, the pain of separation, and the sting of tears that we
look to our Lord for the joy of hope that He offers to us all. Lord help us
today to place our complete trust and faith in you. Dennis Keith Thompson was
born on March 25, 1958 in Dallas, Texas and went home to be with his Lord on
Aug. 9, 2007 at the age of 49. He was a dedicated, faithful Christian man, a
devoted and loving husband, and a caring and involved father. Dennis was highly
intelligent with numerous talents involving anything from computer technology to
all aspects of music, from composing and arranging to performing and mixing. He
was a member of the "Town North Men of Note" Chorus and the "One Voice" Quartet
with several of his closest friends. He was a long time member of the Church of
Christ, both Denton Drive and Webb Chapel. He served as a Deacon, a song leader
and a much-loved Bible teacher. One of his favorite past times, other than golf
and music was spending time with his family playing games and laughing. He was
loved deeply by all who knew him. Those of us that remain will sorely miss him,
but we look forward to that day when we will all be reunited with him and our
Lord. Dennis is survived by his wife, Annette Thompson , his children, Amy and
Jason Thompson , his parents, Deedie and Glenda Thompson , his sister, Mitzi
Thompson , and a plethora of family and friends. The Memorial Service will be
held on Aug. 11, 2007 at the Webb Chapel Church of Christ in Farmers Branch,
Texas at 10a.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Does God
Exist" program, P.O. Box 2704, South Bend, IN 46680-2704. "John P Brooks and
