and best friend to Bobby Joe Thompson for 62 years, daughter of Mary
Helen Cooper and Bert Antoine Cooper, and Ellen Elizabeth Smith, devoted
mother to Caryn, Dana, and Perri.
Jane's lifelong faith in Jesus marked every area of her life. She
married her love, Bobby Joe Thompson, on October 16, 1959 and they

she pursued her passion of education in church life and academics. She

In her life, Jane made sure her family and grandchildren were her number
one passion. She and Bob were present in attendance at every football
game, performance, or event ensuring that each of their grandchildren
felt supported by G-mom and PaPaw. Jane and Bob also had a deep passion
for mission work. Before retirement Jane spent many hours on youth
mission trips with Lakeland Baptist church. In their retirement, they
went on mission trips to Estonia, East Africa, West Africa, Spain,
Ireland, and Ecuador to touch unreached people groups across the world
with the hope of Christ. Even after they stopped traveling for missions,
Jane was a fierce prayer warrior in the local mission front at The
Village Church, including starting a ministry for widows called the 24/7
Ministry.
