ARLINGTON - Truman Charles Thompson, a retired barber, died Friday at his
Arlington home. He was 77.
Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hugh M. Moore & Sons Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
Mr. Thompson, who was born in Coppell, had lived in Arlington for 20 years.
He retired in 1978 from his job as a barber. He earned his license from a barber
college in Dallas and was a 1931 graduate of Carrollton High School
.
Mr. Thompson served in the Army during World War II.
He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and was a past Grand
Master.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Irving.
Survivors: Wife of 50 years, Rose Bell Thompson of Arlington; three sons,
Charles O. Thompson of Columbia, S.C., Truman M. Thompson of Arlington and
Clovis H. Thompson of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Thresa A. Meza of
Arlington; three sisters, Prudence Thompson of Fort Worth, Bertha Gentry of
Whitesboro and Esther Parrish of Trenton; and nine grandchildren.
