OBITUARY
THOMPSON
G. L. THOMPSON, age 71, of Atlanta, TX died on Saturday June 21,
2003 in Atlanta, TX. Mr. Thompson was born on November 9, 1931
in Farmers Branch, TX and lived most of his life in the Carrollton,
TX area until he moved to Atlanta, TX in 1996. He retired from
Glidden Paint Company in Carrollton, TX and was a member of First
Baptist Church in Carrollton, TX.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife: Lorain Thompson of Atlanta,
TX; one daughter: Sheir New & husband Roy of Atlanta, TX; 3
step-grandchildren: Kevin New of Queen City, TX, Scott New of
Rowlett, TX, and Alicia Hayden of Little Rock, AR; 5
step-great-grandchildren; and one brother: Bill Thompson of
Carrollton, TX. Funeral services will be at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday June
24, 2003 at New Hope Baptist Church in Cass County, TX with Rev.
Othell Laferney and Rev. David Baxley officiating. Burial will
follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral
Service in Atlanta, TX. Visitation will begin at 5:30 P.M.
Monday at the funeral home.
