OBITUARY
 

Benjamin (Ben) Edward Tunis
(April 6, 1942 - December 13, 2011)

Benjamin (Ben) Edward Tunis of The Colony, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, Texas at the age of 69 years old.

Ben was born on April 6, 1942 in Galveston, Texas to his parents Isaac Benjamin Tunis and Ellen Gunda Tunis. He made a living for his family as a mechanic. Ben was a member of Christian Center Assembly of God and sang with the worship team every Sunday morning with his wonderful bass voice. Ben was a kind and personable gentleman who took great pride in his appearance. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by; his first wife, Barbara Tunis; son, Gregory Tunis; daughter, Rose Anne Tunis; and parents, Isaac Benjamin Tunis and Ellen Gunda Tunis and step-mother, Molly Tunis.

Ben is survived by his wife, Willima Banner Tunis; children, son, Steve Tunis and his wife Dawn, daughter, Brenda Drumm and step-son, Jonn Banner; 7 grandchildren, James A. Drumm, Ashley E. Drumm, Zachary Tunis, Alyssa Lynn, Chelle, Patty and David Romero; 2 great grandchildren, Zari Ariana Davison and Devon Ryland Everett; 3 sisters, Rose Spillers, Mary Davis and Martha Wolford, and many nieces, nephews, church family and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Christian Center Assembly of God, 13505 Josey Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Funeral service will be on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00 am also at Christian Center Assembly of God. Burial will follow at Hilltop Memorial Park, 1810 North Perry Road, Carrollton, Texas 75006. Rev. Weldon Burchett will be officiating.
