LANDS IN FRANCE R. A. Tutt, Jr.
Word was recently by Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Tutt, Sr., that their son, R. A. Jr.,
had landed in France. R. A. entered service two years ago on May 12th.
In a letter home, he expresses his thankfulness that the war is being fought on
foreign soil, and that the folks at home do not have to live like the peoples of
Europe are living. Also he is grateful that this country is not having to
undergo devastation such as European countries are subjected to. "One cannot
realize," he says, "the great extended of damage heard so much about in the
States, until he has gotten a first-hand view of the wreckage and the conditions
of the countries."
