YVONNE L. VAUGHN

Born in Beaumont, Texas March 10

VAUGHN, YVONNE L. Born in Beaumont, Texas March 10, 1928 to Homer and Eloise Ferguson, passed away January 21, 2007 in Houston. Preceded in death by her husband Landers M. "Buz" Vaughn, she is survived by her daughters and their spouses Janey and Logan Watson, Judy and Brooks McAdam, Candy and Matthew Welch, Sandy and Steve Saterbak, and sons David Ayers and Mike and Cheri Vaughn. Also survived by her precious grandchildren, Chloe and Marshall Vaughn and Paige Welch, who will forever cherish memories of their Maw Maw. Also survived by her brother and his wife Calvin and Sharyn Ferguson and special "other daughter" Susan Chapman along with other relatives and special friends. Yvonne lived in Farmers Branch for 39 years. She retired in 1991 from AT&T and was very involved in the Telephone Pioneers. Earlier in her career, she worked many years for Dr. Joseph Davidson in Dallas. She was an accomplished quilter with a circle of "bee friends". She left many quilts as cherished gifts to family, friends, and charities. Among her other hobbies were traveling, genealogy and stamp and coin collecting. Her travels included cruises to Alaska, Europe, Western Asia and Iceland and a trip to New Zealand. Yvonne was a member and supporter of "Band Boosters" from 1971- 1979 while her children attended R.L. Turner in Carrollton, Texas. She moved to Houston 8 years ago. In Houston, she spent much time babysitting for children whom she doted on and loved as her own. Our mother will be forever missed. A Visitation will be Friday January 26, 2007 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Saturday January 27, 2007 10:00A.M. at Rhoton Funeral Home Chapel, interment to follow at Hilltop Memorial Park.
