Michael
Gregory Ward
October 15, 1947 - February 28, 2022
U.S. Veteran
Michael “Mike” Gregory Ward, age 74, of Sadler, TX, passed away
peacefully at his residence on Monday, February 28, 2022. Mike was born
on October 15, 1947 in McKinney TX, to Stanley Ward & Cathy (Bomar)
Ward. He was a 1966 graduate of R. L. Turner High School in Carrollton,
TX and attended Cooke County College, Gainesville, TX on a Drama
Scholarship. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and
was a decorated veteran that received numerous medals, prestigious award
and military honors. He married Carole Pearson on November 26, 1986 in
Richardson, TX. He was formerly employed in auto sales.
He enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. A good game of
football on a Sunday afternoon was a favorite of his. He loved being
outdoors where he always had a garden. He passed a lot of time working
crossword puzzles, which he was a whiz at. During the pandemic he
learned to crochet and made many hats which he donated to nurses or
anyone in need. He was a longtime resident of Sadler, but most of all he
was a Christian and was very strong in his faith. He will be missed by
all his loving family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Carole Ward of Sadler, TX, his
children; Kim Jinkins & Jesse of Bridgeport, TX, Greg Ward & Misty of
Aubrey, TX, Lauren Ballard & Jim of Sadler, TX, Kyle Long & Anisa of Ft.
Worth, TX, Leslye Rosin & Jimmy of Denton, TX, seven grandchildren;
Kolbe Adams of Dallas, TX, McKenna Long of Plano, TX, Bethany Ballard of
Sadler, TX, Brayden Ward of Aubery, TX, Grayson Ward of Aubrey, TX,
Indie Rosin of Denton, TX, Molly Ward of Aubrey, TX, other extended
family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by both his parents; Stanley & Cathy Ward.
The family would like to give a special " Thank You” to the Texas
Oncology Team and Bonham VA Team for the loving care that they gave to
their loved one.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the charity of your
choice.
The family will announce a date for a memorial service. |
