Funeral Today Funeral services for George Francis Warner, 77, of
Wylie, who owned and operated Carrollton's first electric light plant, will be
held at the First Methodist Church at Wylie at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at
the
Perry Cemetery at Carrollton.
Warner, the father of Mrs. Jay F. Murphy, 613 West Pembroke, died Friday
at Wylie after a three-month illness.
His family said that he wired the entire town when he opened this electric
plant at Carrollton. Warner is also credited with operating the first light
system at Pottsboro, Texas.
He was the son of John Warner, who came to Carrollton from Ireland in 1852.
Survivors are his wife; his daughter, Mrs. Jay Murphy, Dallas, a son,
G. F. Warner, Jr., Puente, Calif; a sister,
Mrs. Emma Hardcastle, Carrollton,
and three grandchildren.

OBITUARY
Former Carrollton Resident Passes
Funeral services for George Francis Warner, 77, of Wylie who owned and

Pallbearers were Guy Perry, Warner Perry, Henry Perry, Leland Perry, nephews
