(Noell) Weichbrodt passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 13th at the age
of 86. She was born in Farmers Branch, TX Feb. 16, 1926, to Ralph Leslie
and Nannie (Henry) Noell. Known affectionately to family as "Tootle,"
she grew up in Farmers Branch and graduated from Carrolton Dallas High
School in 1943. After high school, helping with the war effort, she
worked at the John E. Mitchell Metal Factory that manufactured rocket
engines for the military. She attended St. Paul's Hospital Nurse Corps
from 1944 to 1947. She graduated as a Registered Nurse at the end of
WWII. She met the love of her life, Leland Weichbrodt, at the OU-Texas
football game. They were married Sept. 3, 1947, in Dallas, TX. They
lived in Norman, OK while her husband Leland was in school. Three
children were born while in Norman. After graduation, they lived in
South Texas, Clinton, OK and Oklahoma City, where their fourth child was
born. As a Registered Nurse, she served all Oklahoma City hospitals for
over 40 years. During her career, she was a private duty nurse,
industrial nurse, school nurse, "Lake of the Ozarks" camp nurse and did
private duty health care. She was an active member of the State Nursing
Association for 20 years. She made many friends as a private duty nurse.
She was a member of Putnam City Christian Church, involved in Sunday
School, Meals on Wheels and Women's Christian Fellowship. She loved
traveling, trips to Europe, Alaska and the Caribbean. She enjoyed time
with girlfriends, gardening, and all the special times with
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid OU football fan,
and her passing was celebrated with a 63-21 Sooner victory over the
Longhorns on Saturday, coinciding with the OU-Texas weekend, where she
met her husband 65 years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband,
parents and two brothers, Buddy Noell and Charles Noell. She is survived
by children, Tom Weichbrodt, Steve Weichbrodt and wife Joni, Darlene
Weichbrodt and Gary Weichbrodt; eight grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Joe Clark.
Viewing will be 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Tuesday, with family present 6-8 p.m.,
at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m., Putnam
City Christian Church. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Lawton,
OK, at 3:30 p.m. Donations can be made to the Myasthenia Gravis
